Candy Apple Red And Flesh Mystical Warriors Of The Ring Sets Review

MWOTR PRODUCTION 1

Big things for MWOTR at NYCC (and online last Friday) with the release of the production 3 pack of figures. I picked up a set of each for myself, and was not let down by these awesome mini figures. Let’s take a look at the figures.

The production set of 3 figures includes the tiger Sheldon Sabre, the multi armed spider Widowmaker, and the large scale gorilla Kayin Kungaa. All three of these guys look great, and sport the usual MWOTR tons of awesome sculpted details that make them stand out. The figures are made of a bit softer PVC than most other modern mini figures (like OMFG) so you can actually move their limbs (and tail!) around a bit to get them into some fun “moves”. The flesh tone matches the recent Weaponeers of Monkaa, and Banimon (more on that later in the week) figures perfectly….now that I think about it I should have taken some pics of that, but you know what they say about hindsight. While flesh is more of a “classic” tone for mini figures the Candy Apple Red is easily my favorite of the two colors, but the red does make the small details a bit harder to make out to the naked eye. The figures are all different sizes which help each one stand out from the others. The best part of the figures going to production is the price. Sure $20 for a resin mini figure isn’t bad, but $9 for 3 production figures that are super durable is a much better deal any way you cut it. My favorite of the 3 figures is easily the large gorilla fellow, but all 3 of them look great and are fun to play with.

QC is awesome on these guys and coming from the same factory as many of my favorite lines (Glyos, Mordles, and WoM.) I didn’t expect much in the way of problems anyway. Being made in one color there is not a lick of paint on them so no problems there either.

No Accessories on these guys, but at $9 what more could you ask for than 3 awesome looking figures?

Overall I’m loving these production MWTOR quite a bit, and at $9 a pack the final barrier to these being easy for anyone to grab some of these guys. If you’d like to snag omega for your own they are still available in the Trucast Store right now.
