Dino Riders Valorian Quetzalcoatlus Box: US and Japanese Versions

drbox1

Dino Riders came out in the age where many toylines had gorgeous painted artwork on boxes and promotional material. These pieces deserve to be recognized as they are true works of art. As beautiful as the art Tyco commissioned was, they curiously didn’t use the same pieces for the lines Japanese release. Dino Riders in Japan featured actual photos of the toys which are oddly almost as stunning. Here is a quick look at the Series 1 Quetzalcoatlus box as it appeared in both the US and Japan.

The boxes are the same size and though I’d normally praise the painted version I can’t deny that the doctored photo of the toy used in the Japanese release is really great as well.

Even the back of the boxes featured different artwork. I see that US artwork on many US Dino Riders packages that Tyco released but that Japanese art is mind blowing in how awesome it is.

This was just a quick look at the different styles Tyco used in the line in the US and Japan but if you want a closer look at many of the toys then you are in the right place. Doom Kick is your Dino Riders headquarters with many of the toys covered right here on the site!
