Lester’s Fixins Peanut Butter and Jelly Soda

pbj1

You ever wanted to drink a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? No? Me neither but as soon as I found out this existed I wanted to try it. Lester’s Fixins has several sodas based on popular food. There’s the pb&j soda and then there’s sweet corn, ranch dressing, buffalo wing and a few others. I only got the Peanut Butter and Jelly for now but I may have to try those others out in due time. So how does a liquid sandwich taste? Find out!

It’s definitely an eye catcher, that’s for sure. It almost seems like some cruel joke soda instead of the real deal drinkable peanut butter and jelly.

pbj3

Upon opening the bottle I did get the faint whiff of peanut butter and jelly. It wasn’t too strong but there was no doubt it was there.

I know by now you’re just wanting to know how it tastes. Well, it really wasn’t bad at all. It was actually kind of good. It’s good enough that I could easily drink the whole bottle but I’m going to save some for later when my 7-year old gets home to see what he thinks about it.

pbj5

It really does taste like peanut butter and jelly. It’s a weird sensation to have the taste of fizzy peanut butter and jelly roll over your tongue and it takes just a moment to get used to. It’s probably a good place to start in the line of Lester’s Fixins Sodas. Ranch dressing might be good but it seems like something you would want to work up to in the world of soft drink flavors.

pbj6

It is hard to convince my brain that I don’t need to chew with these flavors hitting my taste buds. I guess you just train yourself to chew your sandwich after 35 years.

So I guess you’re probably wondering where I got this stuff. I actually found it completely by accident. My son had been wanting a giant gummy worm that he had seen some kids eating on YouTube and told me I could get one on Vat19.com. I was looking through the rest of the cool and weird stuff there and found these sodas for a couple of bucks a bottle. I picked one and added it to my order and it only took a few days to get here. I’m definitely up for trying some of the others, I may go for one of the wilder ones next time. I’ll be sure and let you know how that goes!

This isn’t the first thing I’ve tasted here on Doom Kick. Want to check out more Doom Kick taste tests?

Cool, thanks for the link. Just curious, have you tried any of Hasbro’s smaller scale figures with the Dino Riders or Computer Warriors?

When they 1st returned to the smaller scale with Guardians of the Galaxy, I wondered if they were ramping up for a MASK reboot. That may or may not happen, I have no insider knowledge about it either way.The smaller scale did remind me of some of the cool lines from the 80’s though.

I actually haven’t and honestly I hadn’t even thought of it before. Thanks for putting that in my head. I may have to see if I can still find some of those Guardians of the Galaxy figures. It’d be really cool to have Star Lord riding a giant dinosaur.

Are those micro Marvel guys articulated at the knees? That could make a difference for vehicles/dinos, but I bet they’d look great in the playset.
I smell a piece cooking here!

I’m really not sure if they are or not. i honestly didn’t pay them much attention when they first came out. There were some ships in the Guardians of the Galaxy line I think so maybe they do have knees.

That’s a great point. After doing a quick internet search, it appears they do not have knee articulation. Ohs wells.
