Looking To The Past And The Future Of DoomKick

2013 1

This has been a great year here at DoomKick, and as the year winds down we are preparing for the coming New Year. Read on to see a glimpse of what 2014 holds for the Kick.

Man 2013 has been one wild ride! The year was packed with so much good stuff that listing it all would be a huge undertaking, but here is some of my favorite highlights…

The 1 year anniversary celebration.

T-Rav joining the team.

MOTU Day.

The launch of Rampageo Industries, and the DK Store.

Breaking 100,000 hits!

The ever climbing ranks of followers on Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter.

Teaching the Mk Resin Brawl with my good friend PJ of Spaced Out Design.

Bill Bedlam joining the team.

Another wonderful experience at NYCC

All the great people I got to spend time with during the year.

Massive amounts of super toys dropping all year long.

2013 2

In 2014 things will be evolving a bit with the appearance of some ideas me and T-Rav have been kicking around. We will be spreading our wings a bit into some more non toy territory (something T-rav has been slowly introducing for a while now), but have no fear toy lovers the plastic we love so will remain the main focus of the site until they pry it out of my cold dead hands. You can see on these pics the new DK watermark which will start appearing on all pictures taken by us in the near future. These pics are still the normal size, but in all new posts pictures will be 2x bigger when you click on them so you can get a good look at the details. This will also remove the slight distortion you see on some of the horizontal pics completely. In other news I will soon be going to work on the next wave of Rampageo Industries products so I will be scaling back my reviews to one a week for a bit. T-Rav and I have a new schedule worked out so the posts will be spread out evenly during the week. I will also be trying several new lighting, camera and background set ups for the review pics so you will be seeing some new things until I settle on a default scheme. Thank you to each and every reader of the site, and everybody who likes and shares out stuff across the internet. You continued support and interest is what keeps us going here. 2014 is gonna be a great one!

The funny thing is, given how banal 2012 was, I thought 2013 would be a real test of the industry. Instead, the 3rd par tiers came out of the woodwork, the bugs hit with some surprisingly great product, 3d printing took off, and kickstarter monetized a flagging industry. I’m excited to see the momentum propel 2014, much more so than I thought I’d be this time in 2013. Excited too to see what lies ahead for doomkick.
