Ok so Ri has been on Bigcartel for years now, and while I do enjoy that platform all of the things I spoke about in my recent post are true so I switched over to Etsy, and I’m hoping it will be good overall, but there are a few little intricacies to Etsy. You may notice the price of the books has gone up a little bit, and that’s due to Etsy’s search functions.
So one of the reasons I wanted to switch over stores was Etsy offers the ability to search for products which is a huge boon for discovery, but that comes at a price. They will limit your listing appearing in searches if shipping prices are too high. This is a little annoying because I KNOW what it costs to ship these things, and it isn’t cheap by a damn sight. So what’s a shop owner to do? Well, the easy answer is to knock the shipping charge down and fold the extra cost into the product price which is what I did so prices realistically end up being the same either way.
The other reason for the store switch is the upcoming The Great Slime Wars Game which is REALLY close to dropping. We should be seeing the actual game piece standees VERY SOON, and I’ll obviously be talking about the full details of that in another post. TGSW will be dropping with a starter set featuring 4 characters, and a faction set featuring 2 characters for a total of 6 characters in 3 factions for the debut of the game. I will be needing the extra store space for these as well.
That’s about it for today though. All the homepage links for the store have been switched over so we are fully in the new era of Doomkick, Rampageo Industries, and Rampageo Press.
