Hello there! Since I’ve been talking about all this on the various DK/Ri social media I guess it’s time to make it official, and talk about Battle for Jalldoon the TEWOJ Trading Card Game…you read that right TEWOJ is getting a card battle game. Read on to find out all about it.
As you may have noticed there is now a Games page on the site, and while there isn’t anything on it quite yet soon there will be. I’ve been plugging away on this trading card game for a little while now, and currently doing play testing , and waiting on some art from the infinitely talented Tim Wilsie to complete the set. BFJ is shaping up to be real fun so far, and I’ll give you a quick rundown of the game.
2-4 Players can play the game. You could theoretically play with more, but for general purposes 2-4 seems to be easiest way to do things. Each player chooses a Hero Card, and a Weapon Card. After choosing Hero and Weapon Cards Players set their cards aside along with the Health and Magic Tokens based on card stats. Players then separate the remaining cards into 3 Decks 1 Heroes. 2 Terrain. 3 Everything else. Hero cards get put aside. Players shuffle Terrain Deck and pick 2 cards, these will be the map for the battle. Players place remaining terrain cards to side. Each player places their Player Token on the outside of a Square on the end of their Terrain Cards. Shuffle Deck 3, and place to side of map. Each player rolls their dice, and the highest roll goes first. At the start of every turn each player draws a card from deck 3, and can make their moves/actions until only one player remains. The other cards are the Weapons, Spells, Artifacts, and Minions. Obviously the full rules will be a lot more in-depth, but that’s the gist of it.
BFJ Series 1 includes 50 cards (51 with the checklist) broken down by rarity.
Black=Common
Blue=Uncommon
Purple=Rare
Gold=Ultra Rare (this includes special Holo Foil Cards as well)
Yeah, you read that right MF’ing Holo Foil cards!
So once the Cards and Stats are 100% done (what you’re seeing here is close to final WIP shots by the way) I’ll be opening pre orders on the game. The Pre order period will be a certain length of time, and once it ends the cards will be sent off to be produced. Before any of that I’ll be getting a set in hand to make sure it all looks good so I can be assured that people will be happy, but the wait shouldn’t be too long. I’m still hammering out all the final details, but here is the as of now plan. the two Sets will include pre planned cards (with each set having different decks) while the decks will contain random cards.
