Chapter 8:  The Bronze God Revealed

Continued from Chapter 7

She knew it wasn’t considered “polite”, but the little girl continued to stare up at the motionless being for what seemed like ages. Levitating several feet above the ground, the creature in turn stared silently at the one tree that grew near the cliff edge. They were about a mile from shore, along a tall ridge away from the fishing villages on the outskirts of Bakurados Bay. The ancient, twisted tree stood on the tallest outcropping, and the little girl would sometimes come there alone to play. A large, purple-armored man hovering in front of the tree was not something she was expecting. “Mister, what are you doing?” She asked innocently. After a moment, the being spoke. “This tree is the oldest living thing on your planet.” He turned to face the little girl before continuing, “For two of your days, I have been communicating with it on a low psionic level in order to determine where I am…and why I have been trapped in this realm.” The girl kicked around a rock on the ground,Ohh…you’re new here.”

Chapter 7: The Bronze God of Bakurados

Continued from Chapter 6

The carriage wheels squeaked on the dirt road as Toron looked out the window. He could see the large gates of Bakurados Bay in front of them as the ride pulled to a stop. Algor hopped out and started grabbing their packs from the back as he looked up at the massive wall surrounding the city before them. Finishing the last of his ale, Toron joined his companion as they marveled at the spires reaching toward the sky just beyond. The two Slimes had come to the Bay City to accept a shipment of weapons coming from Gato. With the threat of Master Boshak and Baron Drackholme’s combined forces threatening Jalldoon, the heroes would need the best weapons…and no weapon on the planet could compare to the nigh-unbreakable Gatonian Steel usually reserved exclusively for the catlike people of Gato. Fortunately for our heroes, Grar had pulled a few strings back home to secure an arsenal for the forces of good.

Chapter 6: Toron’s Journey

Continued from Chapter 5

Toron wiped the sweat from his brow as he hopped back from the bolt he had been tightening on the large metal arm in front of him. Taking a long swig from his goblet he looked over his latest creation, a large suit of armor. The slime made his way behind a blast shield with a small remote as he thought to himself “Here goes nothing” before pushing the small button on the little black box he held. As he pushed the button he heard a series of clicks followed by a small hollow clank on the floor, and after waiting a few seconds to make sure it wasn’t going to explode he stuck his head out from behind the shield and saw that the suit of armor had compacted itself into a small box. Toron clicked the button again and the suit unfolded itself out from the box as Toron squished himself inside a small port located on the back of the suit, and as his slime body filled up the contraption he clicked the interior switch as the suit sprang to life.

Chapter 5: The Shadow of War

Continued from Chapter 4

Prince Algor sat in silence. His room was lit only by candles that cast a warm glow reflecting off the Prince’s slick skin. Astral communication was a new technique the Slime Elder Magi had taught him to keep in contact with them, and as Algor’s body sat safely in the tower of the Royal Castle of Slime City, his astral form was conferring with the Magi and the Voice of the Gods. The drums of war had been beating louder and louder as Baron Dracktholm and Master Boshak grew their army larger by the day. The roads of Jalldoon were littered with raiding bandits, and fear was at an all-time high. The Voice had explained all this to Algor, but now the need for heroes was rising so action must be taken. All agreed that a team must be assembled to protect the good citizens of the Planet from the evil facing them, and the Magi knew of the perfect place for this team to base their operations. The Magi made motes of light dance in the astral air as the trail was laid out for Algor to follow, and the Voice of the Gods promised Algor a gift to aid his quest.

Chapter 4: The Monastery at the Center of the World

Continued from Chapter 3

The Snow whipped around Prince Algor’s head as he pulled his fur vest closer to his near-frozen body while ahead Toron was peering off in the distance through his spyglass. The old Slime turned around “Well Al, it looks like we’re on the right track to the northern pass if we can chart this mountain trail…in a blizzard…with a squadron of Shocktroopers on our tai…” Algor cut Toron off mid-sentence “ So basically easy breezy right buddy?” the Prince said with a smile as he blew into his cupped hands.

Chapter 3: Meeting The Slime Elder Magi

Continued from Chapter 2

Prince Algor tossed and turned in bed. His head swimming with visions of terror, and as he jumped awake covered in sweat he felt an intense urge to get out of the Castle. As he made his way down the stairs he could hear a commotion coming from Toron’s lab, and as he turned the corner he could see a thick billow of smoke coming from under the door. With a mighty kick, he knocked the heavy wooden door right off its frame only to discover a stunned Toron and King Valdar staring at him “ Al, what the hell man? What are you doing?” Toron asked him, putting the mouthpiece of the large pipe the two Slimes had been smoking out of on the table.

Chapter 2: The Lost Reliquary of Karnok

Continued from Chapter 1

The moonlight cast a soft glow over the vast cemetery known as the Field of Tears as the soft hooting croak of a Frowl could be heard in the distance. Toron sat behind a tombstone and looked over at Algor, crouched in his heroic full-body form next to a large stone cross. They had been in the cemetery for hours trying to lure an especially angry Banshee Spirit [15] that had been terrorizing the nearby crossroads for weeks, and beyond the sounds of life all around them, Toron could hear none of the wails these creatures were known for. Suddenly the moon was obscured by clouds and a scream that would render a normal being to a quivering pile of fear echoed across the dark cemetery, and in the dark of the night Toron could see the spectral form of the spirit floating towards their decoy slowly.

Chapter 1: The Search For Algor

It was a beautiful day in the Emerald Caverns, but a dark cloud hung over the entire Slime Kingdom. No one had seen Prince Algor or Toron in months, King Valdar had sent scouts across the entire planet looking for the two. Most of the scouts had made it back with no leads to the whereabouts of the Prince, however, one scout had an interesting story to tell.

Who’s Who: Grar

The famed Gatonian Thief Grar is a long time friend of Prince Algor and Toron . His chosen profession is a source of embarrassment to his Mother and Father, The King and Queen of his home nation of Gato. Despite this he still has a good relationship with his parents, and his littermates. Grar is most close with his brother, the Barkeep at the Faulty Compass Inn and Tavern, Oliver. While his profession may be less than noble, Grar himself is a true soldier of good who continually puts his life on the line keeping the planet from the grip of evil.
